THE AIRPORT HAS CONTRACTED WITH ACHIEVMENT AVIATION LLC TO PROVIDE CERTIFIED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR PRIDE AND JOY OR YOUR FLEET OF AIRCRAFT.
ACHIEVEMENT AVIATION LLC is owned and operated by Josh Johnson who is airframe and engine certified as well as having his Inspection Authorization certificate allowing him to oversee maintenance procedures as they are perform by other mechanics or to offer you that valued second opinion. Josh is well set up to serve our community with mobility being offered in his business plan. Being a seasoned pilot and an Instructor pilot Josh will come to you if necessary and offers courtesy pick-up and delivery within 50 miles of Van Wert. Josh is available Monday through Friday and offers weekend service by appointment and is flexible for emergency service.

The VAN WERT AIRPORT IS THE PLACE TO GET YOUR PILOT TRAINING!
Training is available toward all ratings from the Light Sport Pilot rating through Commercial, Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings. Training is provided by local certified flight instructors in your aircraft or rental Aircraft. Congratulations to our newly rated pilots and Thank You to all. The Van Wert Airport uses a well maintained Cessna 172 (the most widely produced aircraft in the world) that is equipped with the Garmin 530 (WAAS) GPS system for navigation and approaches. The rental fee is $110.00 per hour and Van Wert has Instructors available at most any time. Our instructors will use this aircraft or yours for all ratings through Commercial Instrument and Multi-Engine. In the spring, Van Wert is planning to offer Tail-Dragger transitions in an Aeronca Chief two-seater.
The new SPORT PILOT SCHOOL “FLY-4-FUN” is staying busy right through the fall and into winter. Congratulations to Clyde, Joyce Stanton and David Mills who have obtained their Sport Pilot License and to Solo Pilots John Gamble, Steve Racster and Jerry Weir who are in mid-training.
WATCH for UPDATES and more activity in ROTORCRAFT. Your airport manager Tom Dunno has formed “NW OHIO HELICOPTERS, LLC” and will offer Helicopter and Gyroplane training along with pilot services using rotorcraft. Tom is now the owner of a Brantly B2 (a training helicopter) and a RAF 2000, a two-seat trainer gyroplane. Announcements will appear in the local papers and in trade magazines. “I have always been amazed by the capabilities of Helicopters and Gyroplanes. I have flown helicopters since I was a teenager and would like to form a group of interested members for a local organization of ROTORY-WINGED enthusiasts.

ANOTHER BIG DAY * * * ANOTHER YOUTH DAY * * * IS COMING TO THE VAN WERT AIRPORT PLANS ARE IN THE MAKING FOR SPRING AND THE DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THIS PAGE!
The Van Wert County Regional Airport is joining with the "EAA" (the people that bring you the Oshkosh Fly-In) to offer a FREE AIRPLANE RIDE to youngsters between the ages 8 and 17 years of age. The EAA Chapter #2 from Fort Wayne is helping Van Wert to introduce our youth to their "Young Eagles" division in a way you won't forget. An introduction to general aviation that includes: A Free Aircraft Ride; Lesson on Aircraft Pre-Flight Inspection; Free Membership into the Young Eagles; and a Free On-Line Course that trains you to take the Private Pilot Written Test (the same test that anybody would take to train to be a private pilot).

Get to Indianapolis in 1 hour and 10 minutes with $34.00 worth of gas; Columbus in 1 hour, Put-In-Bay in 50 minutes and Chicago in 1 hour 40 minutes.
Your one-time share to buy in is about $3,600.00. Your monthly share of costs is about $35.00 and annual insurance will be about $300.00 per member. Have you ever owned a boat? Compare your costs to these. Pay your own fuel and oil and maintenance costs hourly of about $50.00. As owning members, you make the decisions for your own club.
